| Am I allowed to claim?
The eligibility criterion for claiming for personal injury compensation is not common knowledge to the public. Generally, claims can be made if you have been injured physically or psychologically within the last 3 years.
The team at Taxi Helpline can guide and help you through the legal system and get your claim up and running. Most of the time, we are able to settle cases and claims by skilful negotiation and without the need for court proceedings.
What sort of compensation can I expect to receive for my injury?
Each case is unique and therefore will incur different costs and compensation packages. You can expect to recieve between £2000 - £10,000 for different types of claims.
Motor Accident Claims
Can I still claim even if I am partial to blame for the accident? Yes, but you will have a percentage deduction from your final damages to reflect your responsibility even if you are mainly to blame. Please understand that there is very little point in claiming if you are completely to blame for the accident.
Can I claim if I was a passenger in the car involved in the accident ? Yes you are not responsible for the incident! You can claim against either the driver of the vehicle you were travelling in or the other party involved.
Can I claim against any family members or friends ? Yes. Remember you are not claiming against them personally, but against their Motor Insurers.
Can I claim if the other party was uninsured? Yes, via an organisation called the Motor Insurers Bureau. This organisation is funded by the Insurance Industry, and provides support for people who have been involved in accidents where the other person is uninsured and cannot be traced.
Slip and Trip Claims
Where can a slip and trip claim take place? Almost anywhere. They can take place whilst walking down a street, whilst in a shop or as a result of an accident at work.
What are the actions that I should follow if I am involved in an accident ? You should take a photograph of the defect which caused you to fall as soon as possible. You should try and place an object next to it, in order to give us an idea of the size, i.e. Ruler on coin. Advise whoever is responsible for the upkeep of the area that the incident has occurred, i.e. local council, employer or owner of the shop. Obtain names and addresses of any witnesses to the incident.
Will it cost me anything?
With our NO-Win, No-Fee policy there is no cost from start to finish whether we win or lose the case there is absolutely nothing to pay. Taxi Helpline guarentees, from recovery to repairs, that you will have to pay no costs at all towards claiming.
